Overview

Construction — DNA
DNA-M
Medium stiffness. More power for heavy riders and lighter winds. Best cost/performance ratio. Available from 375 cm².
DNA-H
Hard stiffness. Maximum control in high winds, high speed runs and jibes. The choice of PWA pros.
DNA-X
Xtra hard. Special construction for the smallest sizes (350, 365, 400) where profiles are too thin for DNA-M layups. Named "H" on the actual wing.
All frontwings use M8 TX30 Torx screws — more reliable than the M6 screws used by many other brands. Clear coat factory finish seals the carbon layers — do not sand without expert guidance as sanding voids warranty.

Construction
To protect the advantage of having the stiffest parts we won't name any construction secrets for the AEON frontwings.
As the only brand in the history of windsurfing able to successfully produce hollow boards in more than 20 sizes (AirInside), PATRIK's know-how in composite construction technology is literally miles ahead of competitor brands. With the "Fullcore" EPS production setup PATRIK has set the industry benchmark for weight and tolerance quality. With the AEON foil constructions they are leading the industry again — offering the thinnest and most high-aspect designs with the stiffest flex-vs-twist ratio.
All foil parts are fitted with TX30 Torx screws. All frontwings use M8 TX30 screws to secure to the fuselage — M6 screws as used by many other brands have been tested and found unreliable.
Sanding & Warranty: All AEON carbon parts have a clear coat factory finish that seals the carbon layers. Sanding off this coating — partially or completely — voids the product warranty and is fully at the rider's own risk. Sanded parts change from glossy to matt finish. There is no general need to extensively sand AEON parts given the advanced production process. Only do so if you're 100% sure about what you're doing and why.
Concept
Design Goals. The target was to create high-performance foils with full compatibility across all foiling sports and disciplines — from the "whatever-it-takes world cup level" to more price-sensitive customers. The AEON has been designed for maximum control, easing the challenge of mastering 3-dimensional flight for both the skilled world cup rider and the intermediate. One connection system for wind-, wing-, prone- and kite-foiling is a massive economic advantage for multi-sport users and allows every rider to find their perfect personal setup easily.
Man vs. Machine. The massive success of the AEON in both Windsurfing and Wing-Foiling is the result of the PATRIK R&D crew's precise and hard work. Products are developed in a unique hybrid process where the human brain (knowledge) and hands (feeling) clearly lead the computer-aided design — not the other way around. Fun fact: CFD programs are created by humans and fed with data based on past practical tests, but can never calculate completely new results outside their given data range. The PATRIK crew develops and tests gear outside that software range — and the results are later used to update available CFD programs.
Single Parts vs. Sets. After the R&D team found peak performance in individual outlines and shapes, they developed individual wishes for flex and twist resulting in different "magic" combinations of AEON parts. Offering all parts separately gives top riders the freedom to find their magic setup, while intermediate riders can choose the best combo for their budget.
