IT'S CHARACTER
The Salt is the Point-7 all-out performance orientated four batten wave sail. Fast riding on the waves, quick to respond in new school wave sailing moves, and ultra-light in your hands. A pure new school wave sail. Adjust the back-hand power, and it’s ready to offer precision, according to the wind strength, the board we use, and what we want to do. We can flatten the profile in Side-Shore conditions to neutralize the profile of the sail in high speed surf, which can give more power in the back hand to get more support in on shore conditions, or when you want quick acceleration to hit the lips of the waves. It’s fast, it’s agile, it’s up to you to let the next move be or dream, or to make it happen. The Salt is ready to stand out!

ON THE WATER
The Salt translates to plenty of useable bottom end grunt, the large luff panel expanding to significantly increase the depth of the draft. The delivery is soft and forgiving, and comes through both hands, the centre of effort focussed around the rider. Used in properly powered conditions, this transforms into a power-hungry animal, locked in and dancing over the water as it advances in every gust. It moves smoothly around the rider thanks to the softness in the luff panel, enabling to keep the pedal down in attack mode, even in the most uninviting conditions. With speed comes light handling, which combined with the Salt’s on-off capacity when eased out, makes it a formidable weapon on the wave and in transition.

WHATS NEW FOR ZERO21
The development of this masterpiece is very extreme to tune up each different size to match the conditions being used in. A cleaner construction and look to modernize the performance of the sail has been introduced. Slender and agile as ever. The bigger sizes have been worked on to bring more upwind and power performance. The 832_Black Code with the top part of the sail in 2.5mil Xply, which will deliver a light and forgiving feeling. The 7548_Yellow code with total 4mil Xply on the top part of the sail to have a more reactive and crispy feeling.

Josep Pons is now in charge of the development with the rest of the Wave Black team and has given new important feedback on the New SALT PRO.

DEVELOPMENT TARGET
The SALT has been part of a continuous evolution since it was first introduced. Each size is tested separately according to the designated wind intensity for which the sail is designed for. The individual changes on each size have been made very specifically to create the perfect sail range. Sail profile, rotation and twist was tuned on each size to make the sails feel freer, and lighter in the hands to allow the riders to focus on the real deal. Development was focused on making the sail more comfortable in heavier conditions, especially on the smaller sizes; a lighter feel whilst giving more control to the rider for that extra comfort.

Point-7 je vzrušující příběh, který se začal psát v roce 2005 díky vizionáři Andreovi Cucchimu. Když spatřil obrovský potenciál pro inovaci a obnovení zájmu o windsurfing v nové generaci, rozhodl se vykročit směrem k tomuto ambicióznímu cíli.
Jeho odvaha spojila osobní výzvu s podnikatelským duchem. Chtěl vytvořit zbrusu novou značku, která by dokázala konkurovat gigantům na trhu windsurfingového vybavení a získat uznání na světové windsurfingové scéně, včetně prestižní PWA (Professional Windsurfers Association).
Příběh začíná v okamžiku, kdy Andrea nemohl naskočit do letadla na svou plánovanou akci v Turecku. Letadlo náhle změnilo trasu a jeho vybavení se do něj nevešlo. Místo zoufalosti využil tento nečekaný volný čas k zahájení svého projektu. Oslovil tři lidi s otázkou, zda by mohli podpořit jeho nápad. Možná se ne všichni přidali k projektu, ale všichni sdíleli nadšení pro vytvoření něčeho nového a odvážného.
Zvláště jeho otec, Roberto Cucchi, stál u zrodu této nové značky a nadále ji podporuje. Jeho zkušenosti a vášeň jsou stále klíčovými pilíři společnosti Point-7. Roberto zůstává aktivní a stále přináší nové nápady, které pomáhají posouvat tuto značku vpřed.
Point-7 je tak příběhem odvahy, odhodlání a rodinného ducha, který spojil vizionářského syna s podnikavým otcem, aby vytvořili značku, která dnes patří mezi špičky ve světě windsurfingu.
